10/10! Brilliant venue for a meal
Absolutely 10/10!!! Booked this place for a birthday meal. There was 14 of us and no deposit was required. They took balloons from me and put them at the table. They also took a pre order (the menu is really big with a lot of variety). They also put some drinks on the table that I had pre ordered and it all looked fabulous! The staff were so friendly! Especially a bald man on the top floor with a checked shirt on. The staff took our photos and were super helpful. The food was amazing! The burgers and hot dogs looked insane too! Super impressed. Lovely views during the day as well.

Most enjoyable birthday meal for my husband
Had the most fabulous meal. The mini fish pie is unbelievably the best thing I have had in a long while served in a oyster shell. The rest of the meal was equally superb and will definitely be back time and again.

Engagement Dinner
What an experience, Paul has been amazing right from the first impression, they have gone the extra mile for a last minute reservation and met all our needs with high quality. They have made our special moment even more special. The views onto the lake are second to none and their team, especially Iveta (10/10), will definitely look after you! My mum and myself came here last week for my birthday while visiting the lakes and we can’t stop recommending this place to friends! What an incredible experience! The staff are just amazing and friendly! Quick service and a lovely variety of everything! We had the option of balcony or inside and we chose inside which had beautiful decor! The food was mind blowing and the best schnitzel and fish & chips we have ever had! The best part was the gentlemen upstairs who made us the best pina coladas we have ever had! Absolutely saved the night from other previous cocktails from another bar! Absolute star!

Absolutely beautiful food and amazing scenery. Couldn’t ask for a better place to eat in Bowness. Something for everyone. We all had burgers, which all had unique flavours and came with extra special touches. Drinks menu is fabulous and special cocktails were on offer. We were really looking after by the incredible staff and Kayleigh couldn’t do enough for us. Thank you so much. This place is spotlessly clean and atmosphere is calm and relaxing as you look out over Lake Windermere. You certainly won’t be disappointed eating here. We are already looking forward to going back. Can’t recommend the Boardwalk highly enough! We had a very large family gathering the evening before my daughter’s wedding on 19th August. The food was amazing and the service was second to none! It was a birthday meal and we tucked in with relish to the amazing tasty food. Great barbecue ribs, chicken breast burger, Philly steak, Return to the Mac….. utterly delicious. All the staff are so friendly and make time to chat even to your dog! So lucky to have discovered THE BOARDWALK.

We came for an overnight stay in Windermere for our 5th wedding anniversary and decided to book here for our meal, not only was the view amazing so was the food. The staff were friendly and welcoming and despite them probably having a busy day they were all up beat and nothing was too much trouble. Me and my wife had a date here on our honeymoon and we had the most lovely time. The staff were amazing, customer service was 100 percent. Had a lovely meal with a nice bottle of wine seated outside overlooking the marina, the food was spot on,I had the boardwalk burger and Marl had the lamb skewers, would definitely recommend both dishes. Brilliant sunny day made it even better, will be visiting again on our next visit.

Boardwalk was a fantastic experience! The service from start to finish was immaculate and the location of the restaurant is perfect! You can see across the lake from the beautiful harbour to enjoy the food! Food was spot on had the crispy squid to start and philly cheese steak which my steak was cooked to perfection! Dessert was beautiful! Staff very friendly and welcoming and the service was great! Would definitely recommend to friends and family and certainly will be going again!

We booked a table here online last Monday (19th) as we were on honeymoon and I’d asked for a table with a view if possible. 10/10 EXPERIENCE
We had a fab Late afternoon lunch on NYE which we had booked at 15:45 but neatly had to cancel as the ferry announced early finish at 17:00. We emailed and although very busy, the restaurant managed to bring our booking forward to 14:30 and no issues with reducing table from a 4 to a 2 on the day. Excellent food, drinks and staff who are attentive, jovial without being OTT. Highly recommend this restaurant, on the lake with beautiful views. It’s great to sit outside in summer when you get the weather. Thanks Paul and team.

I had a beautiful meal here with my family last weekend, for my 40th. The staff couldn’t have been more accommodating and were so friendly and very attentive. Cocktails were absolutely delicious and the cote de boeuf was perfection. It was evening, so we couldn’t take advantage of the views, but still went outside to have a look and they were stunning.

Great location, staff and food
Lovely restaurant, excellent friendly staff and great food and drink. The restaurant is in a great location overlooking the marina in Bowness with views across Lake Windermere. The staff were superb, helpful, chatty and knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. We had a couple of starters to share which were lovely. Our main courses were also fab. Didn’t have room for desserts but the ones coming out to other tables looked really good. I’d definitely recommend it for couples and families – without question worth eating here!

Great location, food and service
Had a wonderful 4 days in the lakes at the end of August and knowing Bowness would be busy we looked through the web for suitable restaurants for our evening meals and prebooked with Boardwalk online – very smooth process. It was wet on our visit so we were undercover outside and even though it got chilly we were able to keep warm under the heaters on each table. Service was excellent and attentive and as most people have commented quick. Our family of five had four different meals and each cleared their plates with the Philly Steak and Lamb Kebabs being particular favourites! Would definitely recommend and suggest prebooking in the busy months.

We went here last night for a meal, this place is lovely. Everyone of the staff is really helpful, friendly and polite. We got given a lovely table with a beautiful view of the lake. I had a hotdog and my daughter had the kids burger and a pudding, all were delicious. Also the inside and outside area is done really nice.

First time here this month and loved it! Great location with a fantastic view. Kids were given colouring/puzzles to do. We ordered some cocktails to start – the Pina Colada was incredible! We didn’t order starters but we had two kids meals and two burgers for mains. I had the burger with the macaroni cheese and pulled pork which was honestly the best burger I’ve had in ages. In fact, I haven’t had a burger since as I don’t want to ruin the memory of that burger!!! One of my kids ordered the corn dogs and they were proper sausages, not the frankfurters I was expecting. They went down a treat! The staff were great and it will be the first place I book the next time I’m in the lakes.

Our group of 14 came here and each of us left feeling well fed and happy. Your staff provide an excellent friendly service. Food was excellent and the menu was creative. Cocktails perfect. Very impressed with this new restaurant. Compared to surrounding establishments it stands out with its smart and clean appearance. My cocktail was so tasty and clearly worth the money as was my gin. The food was very very good, I’d definitely recommend the fish and chips and ribs for starter! We would come back :) Seeing comments about it being overpriced is ridiculous, it’s no different to many of the restaurants which aren’t facing lake Windermere! Definitely go!!

This was the first time we had visited the restaurant. First of all, I was impressed by the communication before I booked the table and secondly that the prices were the same on New Year’s Eve. Many restaurants in Bowness had more than doubled their prices. The food and service was excellent. The staff were courteous, efficient and professional. Everyone was made to feel welcome and the children were provided with activities. We can’t wait to come again in the Summer to sit and look out on to the lake and chill and relax. Thank you.

One of the best steaks I’ve had for a while! Service was fab, incredibly friendly, especially towards our dogs! We all really enjoyed the food and the experience and would certainly highly recommend.

We have visited Boardwalk bar and grill a few times now and I’m never disappointed, the staff are helpful, friendly and attentive, the food is amazing and on this occasion my husband tried the special which was venison steak, he said it was delicious. I cannot rate Boardwalk highly enough. We visited twice this week while in the area and both times the food was amazing. I can recommend the mushroom and cheese burger with waffle fries. Very friendly staff that go out of there way to make you welcome. Even our dog was given a sausage chopped up to eat. Extremely clean and stunning views over Lake Windermere.

Visited the Boardwalk a couple of weeks ago with my wife, we had prebooked which was a good idea. We where sat upstairs overlooking the lake, great views. Staff were very efficient and polite and didn’t wait long for our drinks to arrive. Ordered the steak which was cooked to perfection and wife had the fish n chips which she couldn’t eat as too much lol. I made the most of that as well and that also was tasty. We simply couldn’t fault this place, and would highly recommend it to anyone, we will be back in the not too distant future. Thanks guys..

Thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to The Boardwalk. It has the most beautiful view of the lake and we managed to get the sunshine which was a bonus. We felt like we were abroad! Your restaurant was recommended to me via Bowness Facebook page. I emailed to book a month in advance knowing My family and I would be staying in the area. All correspondence was polite and informative. We prebooked meals. Meal choices sounded great. We arrived to a warm welcome, staff so friendly and organised. Meals were presented well and tasted as good as your well written menu made them sound. Cocktails here are just perfect! Allergy awareness here was great and made us feel listened to as 2 of our party have allergies. The view over the lake creates a peaceful atmosphere. Your staff couldn’t have been more efficient. Each of them looked happy in their roles. A gentleman provided lollipops to the children when leaving which I though was a lovely touch. All 14 of us left her feeling very happy with very full stomachs. Your should feel very proud of the quality of food and service you provide here at Boardwalk bar and grill.

Came here on our first night and hadn’t booked. Staff were able to rearrange tables etc in order to allow us to come in. They even allowed us to have some drinks outside first so that we could appreciate the view before moving to our table inside. If you want to overlook the lake I would suggest booking. Great prices for food and drink-must try the Oh Deer burger!

What a lovely little gem in a wonderful setting. We had a fabulous evening on the last day of our 4-day staycation. The staff were super-friendly and welcoming and accommodated our dietary requirements with a smile and flourish. The food was fresh, hot and delicious. The view of the lake & sunset were spectacular. The background music was amazing – we could have been on the Med. We couldn’t have wished for any more & wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this restaurant.
