We don’t take advanced bookings on our upper balcony/uncovered outside areas as the weather/wind is so changeable in Bowness-on-Windermere. You can ask to be moved only at the time of your visit if seats are available.

Yes, dogs are welcome indoor downstairs and within our outdoor ground floor terraced areas. Dogs are not allowed upstairs or on our upper balcony.

No, we only take bookings through our reservations page.

No, we don’t show any live sports at Boardwalk.

We don’t have parking at Boardwalk. The closest parking is Glebe Road Car Park which is just over the road. However, this does get filled up quickly usually by mid-morning so the next closest is at Braitwaite Fold Car Park which is about a 3 minute walk away and has more spaces.

Please give yourself plenty of time to park as Bowness can be very busy!

Yes! Our ground floor areas are accessible by wheelchair, complete with disabled toilets. Please note we do not have a lift to our upstairs area. This is accessible via stairs with handrails.

We apply a mandatory 10% service charge to bookings of 16 diners or more.

For reservations we allocate tables the following times by default:

  • Tables of 2 seats are allocated 1 hour 30 mins
  • Tables of 3-4 seats are allocated 1 hour 45 mins
  • Tables of 5 seats and above are allocated 2 hours

Unfortunately, due to a high increase of no-shows and late cancellations, credit/debit card details are now required on all booking reservations at Boardwalk Bar & Grill. We DO NOT take a deposit payment from your card, we only take a no-show or late cancellation payment if necessary.

The payments and secure storage of credit/debit card details are all processed securely via Stripe. Stripe is the leading international payment provider giving you ultimate protection and peace of mind.

We respectfully ask for advance notice of any cancellations at least 24 hours prior to your planned visit time. If a table is not amended/cancelled in advance or in the event of a full or partial “no-show” then we reserve the right to charge a fee of £5.00 per person to the card details entered during the time of booking. We hold tables for 15 minutes only, and if you fail to turn up within that time (without cancelling 24 hours beforehand), we’ll charge a “no-show” fee of £5.00 per person to the card details entered during the time of booking.
